Priddis Music Staff
Owner and Founder
Best known as a producer and manufacturer of performance music for singers in the “karaoke” industry, Rick Priddis is the founder and president of Priddis Music. The company has transitioned through ever-changing technology, beginning with cassette tapes, then CDs, DVDs and now digital downloads. Customers have ranged over the years from 1,000 store chains such as The Musicland Group and Transworld Entertainment, to musical instrument dealers and distributors worldwide. Currently, consumers and music-lovers from all the world over, utilize iTunes and other download services as the internet becomes the dominant force in the music industry.
Priddis Music began with an idea as Rick walked the streets of Spain. While a voice major in college, karaoke had not yet arrived on the scene and accompaniment for singers consisted of a piano. With an entrepreneurial spirit already in his blood, having been a “water well digger” in high school during a drought in California, he set out to make his own accompaniment recordings.
Over the years the business has moved from the kitchen of his apartment, to a small shop, to a large warehouse and office facility, to the current state-of-the-art recording studio and office. The library of songs has grown from a humble single cassette of 12 songs to a catalog of over 3,000 recordings.
