Castle Recording Studio

Why is it that when someone speaks of a recording studio, a dilapidated run-down building comes to mind--some place stuck in the heart of an urban area with outside walls covered in graffiti and overgrown sidewalk weeds?  However, upon crossing the threshold of said building, a whole new world awaits.  Finely decorated lobbys, vast expanses of sound boards, recording equipment, and walls covered in awkward looking gray foam greet the hesitant recording artist.

It is for this reason that Priddis Music has set out to change the perception of recording studios.  Nestled in a nice suburban area in Utah, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City, the building from the outside looks "new," taken care of, and resembles a castle…hence the name, Castle Recording Studio.  Wooden plank stairs take clients under the Tower and up to the front door--a heavy thing that looks like it was pulled straight off some Medieval abode, complete with sliding peep window.

As the door swings open, clients are greeted by a bright open area, stone arch with portcullis emerging from its heights, an iron gargoyle hand grasping a “lantern,” stone floors and stone walls, warm wooden beams, doors, and weathered stucco walls.  All this without even reaching the state-of-the-art studio.  For some reason, though, instead of the nervousness one might feel at the project that awaits, one is entranced by the look of it all and worries are forgotten in looking for little details like the Priddis logo carved into the keystone of the arch over the studio door.

Towards the back of the building and under another stone arch, lies the studio.  The intimidating amounts of equipment still exist.  But what lies on the other side of the sound-proof window?--a spacious room, with high ceilings, a beautiful grand piano, magnificent room rug, and floor to ceiling tapestries used in place of the ugly gray foam. “Candle-bearing” light fixtures adorn the walls giving the studio a warm glow and a calm, home-like feel.  Clients automatically feel the grand nature of the project they are starting on, and the setting only adds to the feeling of what will happen when they step in front of the mic. With the services Priddis Music offers in relation to the studio, potential artists can be aided in a step-by-step process which guides them through the sometimes murky and confusing world of the music industry.  All of this combined creates the essence of the Castle Recording Studio--a place where dreams come true, where magical things happen, and where the music world is conquered.
